With the City of Venice election certified, we can now fully focus on the busy 2024 election year ahead. As you can imagine, with three countywide elections next year, our office has been gearing up during the past year to be ready for next year.
We are expecting high voter turnout in 2024, and with hundreds of thousands of registered voters in Sarasota County, we want to ensure a smooth voting experience for all. As your supervisor of elections, I encourage voters to begin preparing now by following these easy suggestions.
Start by registering to vote if you haven’t already done so. It’s easy to register online, in person or by mail. More details are available by visiting our Register to Vote page.
If you plan to vote by mail (absentee), be sure your vote-by-mail request is good through 2024. If you’re unsure if your vote-by-mail request is still valid, use the My Voter Status tool to check your status, and if necessary, submit a request.
Finally, if you plan to vote on election day in 2024, take a moment to familiarize yourself with your polling location. Remember, you must vote at your assigned polling location on election day. Your polling location is listed on the back of your Voter Information Card, or you can use the Find My Precinct tool to verify your location. Election day polls are open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Of course, if you have questions about the coming elections, please contact our office at 941.861.8600.
With gratitude,
