The August 23 Primary Election is upon us, and I want to make sure all registered Sarasota County voters have the information they need to be election ready!
If you are voting by mail, you have options when returning your ballot. Early voting runs from Saturday, August 13 through Sunday, August 21, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., daily at six sites. On election day, Tuesday, August 23, polls are open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and voters must vote at their assigned polling location.
Use your sample ballot to research candidates and races and bring it with you as a reference when you vote. To view your sample ballot online, click the Sample Ballot quick link above and enter the required information.
There will be something for every voter on the August 23 primary ballot, including races for nonpartisan offices such as school board seats, and universal primary contests (UPCs) for State Senate District 22 and several Hospital Board seats, which are open to all registered voters, regardless of political party affiliation, and City of Sarasota At-Large commissioners for city voters.
Finally, if you are voting on election day, be sure to check your Voter Information Card to verify your polling place. You can also click the My Voter Status quick link above and enter the required information to view your polling place address.
As always, elections staff are available to answer any questions you may have about the August 23 Primary Election.
