If you are already registered to vote in Florida but need to update any information on your voter registration record, you may do so in any of the following ways:
- Online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov
- At a Florida driver license office when you apply for or renew your driver license
- By mail or in person at any supervisor of elections office
Have You Moved?
To update your address if you have moved within Sarasota County or from another Florida county, you can call 941.861.8619 or email email@example.com (include your name, address, Florida driver license or Florida ID number or the last four digits of your social security number, and date of birth). You may also complete and submit in person or by mail a Florida Voter Registration Application. Download a Florida Voter Registration Application here in English and Spanish.
Update Your Party Affiliation
Florida is a closed primary state. This means that you must be registered with a political party to vote in that party's primary election. You may change party affiliation at any time but it must be done 29 days before a primary election to be valid for that election. If you wish to register without party affiliation check the "No party affiliation" box on the voter registration application. Select the following link for a list of political parties registered with the state of Florida. You may change your party affiliation in the following ways:
If your name has changed, you must update your voter registration record by completing a Florida Voter Registration Application including your date of birth, Florida Driver License or Florida ID number or the last four digits of your social security number to the elections office. Note: This form cannot be faxed or emailed.
Your signature is very important in the elections process. It is used to verify your signature on vote-by-mail ballot certificates and on candidate and initiative petitions. If your signature or identifying mark has changed, you must use a Florida Voter Registration Application to update it. The online form can be downloaded in English and Spanish and then mailed or hand-delivered to the elections office.
If you no longer wish to be a registered voter in Sarasota County, please fill out the Removal of Voter's Name form (English / Spanish) and mail or deliver it in person to the supervisor of elections office.
